The South part of India along with the North East is known for producing pure Sonamasuri rice. Particularly Guntur, Kurnool, Mahaboobnagar, Nizamabad, Nellore, Warangal and West Godavari Districts in Andhra Pradesh cultivate this variety. In Karnataka, it is mainly grown in Raichur, Koppal and Bellary districts.
